After creating my initial research document I decided to create a Survey to help with our primary research. I used the website Google Forms which allowed me to create and publish a survey. This survey was sent to peers and people online via discord. We decided on 13 questions in three different categories; General, Mechanics (Programming focused), and Art & Design (3D Modelling & Level Design focused). We decided on these categories because it allowed us to use one survey for both our specialisms. The 13 Questions we decided on were:

Which of the following best describe you?
How many hours a week do you play video games?
What movement shooters have you played?
Mechanics:
Are there any mechanics you would like to see in a movement shooter?
Would you prefer pre-made loadouts or weapon pickups?
Do you enjoy character customisation?
What do you find most satisfying about shooters?
Art & Design:
What weapon categories do you like in shooters?
What scale of map do you prefer?
Do you like retro games?
Which style would you prefer?
In my project we are planning on creating a multiplayer/singleplayer movement shooter with retro style graphics and satisfying gameplay. We also want to include features players have missed from their favourite movement shooters. This is why we included our 6th question. Surprisingly, the majority of features people wanted to see in a movement shooter were already included in our initial plan.
As we are aiming for satisfying gameplay we wanted to ask what satisfies people about shooter games. As we expected Headshots & hitmarkers had the majority of votes. However, before running this survey we thought something else like levelling or movement mechanics would be the most satisfying for players.
